Flower Shaped Nutella Brioche/Edible Flower Brioche

Bread baking at home is one of my favourite passion since ever i started baking at home.Brioche, this eggy rich bread dough makes some excellent breads, today post is an elegant flower shaped Nutelle Brioche. This Edible flower is simply prepared with a rich bread dough and the famous hazelnut rich chocolate spread. This time i went for Nutella but however you can simply replace the nutella spread simply with pesto spread or pizza sauce to make a savory version of this flower shaped brioche. This brioche is dangerously addictive and my kids enjoyed thoroughly for their snacks. Nutella and brioche makes a prefect pair and i have seen very rarely people saying no to this beautiful combination.

Edible Nutella Brioche, Flower Shaped Nutella Brioche

This flower shaped nutella brioche is our this week's challenge of Fond Bites-Bake Along a weekly event by Subhashini, she suggested this edible flower for this week.Every week we get to know about the week's challenge on sunday and the members of this group should bake and share either in their blog or with the group members before the next sunday. This brioche is inspired from Bread Kitchen, eventhough this brioche needs bit patience, its quite an easy bread can be prepared happily at home. To get a better idea about shaping this brioche, i have shared stepwise pictures for shaping this beautiful edible nutella brioche flower, hope this helps.

Nutella brioche, Flower shaped nutella brioche,Edible flower Brioche

4cups All purpose flour
1+1/2tsp Instant yeast
2tbsps Sugar
2nos Eggs (beaten)
60grms Butter (melted)
200ml Luke warm milk
1/2tsp Salt
5tbsps Nutella spread
Sugar pearls (for topping)
1tbsp Milk (for brushing)
2tbsps Oil(for brushing)

Take the flour, sugar, salt, yeast, beaten egg in a bowl, mix the melted butter and milk together.

Add the milk mixture to the flour and knead everything as smooth and soft dough for 10-15minutes.

Arrange the bread dough in greased bowl, cover it with a towel and arrange in a warm place. Let it sit for an hour or two until the dough double its volume.

Punch the dough and knead for 5minutes, divide the dough into 4 equal balls. Take a portion and roll it as a circle with 2mm thick.

Line a baking sheet in a baking tray, transfer the rolled circle dough and spread a tablespoon of Nutella spread over the dough, take care not to spread till the edges.

Continue the same way with the remaining three dough and stack the rolled circles one over another as shown in picture.

With a sharp knife, cut the circles as 4,keeping the center intact, then cut into 8, again cut it as 16 wedges.

Take two wedges with your hands, hold them and turn them both together in opposite direction, that means right hand should turn right and the left hand should turn left.

Bring the edges of the wedges together and seal the edges together to make a petal like shape.

Continue the same way with the remaining wedges.

Your flower shaped brioche is ready to prove again for 30minutes. Brush gently the brioche with milk.

Preheat the oven to 350F, sprinkle the sugar pearls on the top.

Arrange in the middle rack of the oven and bake for 20-25minutes until the top turns golden brown.

Place the brioche on a wire rack and brush it with oil, let it cool completely.

However you cant resist to them until they gets cool completely.

Enjoy this dangerously addictive brioche flower.
