Few days back while going through a tamil magazine, i crossed an easy chivda with wheat berries, this idea of making chivda with wheat berries pulled me to give a try immediately. Actually this chivda is an interesting evening snacks especially for kids. Chivda is usually prepared with thin rice flakes, cornflakes etc. For a change if you saw wheat berries from your nearby stores, just get them and give a try to this chivda. Also this chivda doesnt need deepfrying, obviously you can make this chivda quite often. But the only disadvantage of this chivda is just you need to prepare them in small batches.
Am running my second week of blogging marathon with Kid's delight - Snacking all the way, hence my today's post goes for this crunchy munchy chivda. This low calorie chivda goes for soaked wheat berries, apart from this soaking part you can simply dish out this chivda within few minutes. My kids just enjoyed having this fantastic chivda for their evening snacks, also just mix and match the nuts and seeds according to your taste buds eventhough i just went with peanuts. This chivda is mildly sweet and spicy, you can change or alter the spices according to your tastebuds.
Strain the water from the wheat berries and pat dry them.
