If you are searching for a easy breezy, quick, healthy and definitely a satisfy breakfast for a hurry morning, then you should take a look at this easy porridge. Kuthiravali/Barnyard millet is one among my favourite millet which i never forget to get from India, and i have few packets in my pantry to make delicious foods out of it. If you are my regular reader you might know that am not a breakfast person, obviously i try to skip breakfast but since we started our low carb diet, i couldnt skip the breakfast and trying to take millet based foods in the morning. One of my favourite breakfast or else brunch is this barnyard millet porridge.
If you are using pressure cooker, this porridge takes hardly less than 15minutes to get ready and trust me this porridge makes an excellent filling meal. Served along with a spicy gravy or pickle, this porridge tastes simply awesome. With less efforts and less ingredients, your healthy breakfast is ready to have. If you dont have barnyard millet, you can replace it very well with quinoa, or else with any other wholegrains. 1/2cup Barnyard millet/Kuthiravali
3nos Garlic cloves
1no Green chilly
1/2tsp Cumin seeds
Salt
Water/Buttermilk/Milk (as per need)
Wash and take the barnyard millet, garlic cloves, green chilly and cumin seeds in a pressure cooker, add one cup of water and cook for three whistles.
Once the pressure gets released, add water/buttermilk or milk to turn as a porridge, porridge should be in pouring consistency.
Add enough salt and enjoy warm with your favourite side dish.
