After a super flaky puff pastry pizza, my today's recipe goes for an another interesting pizza. When you dish out a sandwich with pizza flavors who will say no. As i told earlier, my family members are great fans of pizza and they will never get bored of pizza. If i serve pizza anytime of day, they will never says 'no'. When i picked Pizza as this week's theme, i know that i will dish out a sandwich with pizza sauce as my kids were asking me since a long. Obviously i couldnt resist to prepare this vegetable loaded sandwich with Whole wheat bread slices though you can still go for usual white bread.
Everyone at home enjoyed thoroughly and this vegetable loaded sandwich makes an excellent meal if you serve them with a simple salad. Since i had homemade pizza sauce at home, i prepared this sandwich quickly with less efforts. Some chopped bellpeppers, chopped tomatoes, sweet corn kernels, chopped onions and cheese is quite enough to make this cheesy vegetable pizza sandwich. If you want to add meats, just go on adding some cooked minced meat while topping the pizza sauce. Kids enjoyed thoroughly and we finished our lunch happily without any guilt. Am sending this ultimate sandwich to this week's blogging marathon as am running with Pizza as theme.
Whole wheat bread slices (as per need)
1cup Pizza sauce
1cup Mixed vegetables (bellpepper, cornkernels, onions, tomatoes)
Grated cheese (as per need)
Dried herbs (as per need)
Oil or butter (for toasting)
Spread enough pizza sauce over a bread slice top it with enough vegetables.
Now sprinkle enough cheese, a pinch of dried herbs, top it now with a bread slice.
Continue the same process with the remaining bread slices.
Heat a griddle, drizzle few drops of oil, drop the already prepared sandwich and toast on both side.
Enjoy warm.
