Looking for a quick dish with healthy horsegram, dont forget to have a look at this lipsmacking pulao. Easy to make, this nutritious rice calls for easy ingredients and the humble 'Horsegram'. If you have cooked and leftover horsegram after using their cooked water for making Rasam aka Indian soup, then this ultimate dish takes hardly less than half an hour to get ready.Spiced simply with green chillies and garam masala powder, this pulao makes an excellent lunch box menu. Serve it along with fried papads or boiled eggs, this pulao will definitely fills everyone's hungry tummy easily.
I love adding horsegram in most of our dishes, i have been looking for a chance to dish out a one pot meal. Finally when i picked Kid's delight-Lunch box as theme for this week's blogging marathon, i gathered all the ingredients to dish out this healthy pulao. No tomatoes or ginger garlic paste is needed, obviously i just went with some chopped onions. If you want to feed your loved ones with Horsegram, dont hesitate a second to check this delicious rich dish.
2cups Cooked rice
1cup Cooked horsegram
1no Onion (big & chopped)
3nos Green chillies (slit opened)
1no Bayleaf
1no Cinnamon stick
2nos Cloves
1tsp Garam masala powder
Salt
Oil
Heat oil and fry the bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cloves until they turns brown.
Add the chopped onions,sauté until they turns transculent, add the slit opened green chillies and saute for few more minutes.
Add the cooked horsegram, garam masala powder, salt, saute again everything for a while.
Finally add in the cooked rice, toss everything gently until rice gets well coated with the spices.
Serve warm with papads or boiled eggs.
