We are getting some super sweet cherries in our farmer's market since few days. Cherries are my favourite fruits. Obviously i grabbed a kg of this cherries and back home, after munching some, i couldnt resist to prepare a simple cherry popsicles to fix the theme of this week's blogging marathon. My theme of this week's marathon is Kid's friendly-frozen foods. After a lipsmacking mango sorbet, my today's post is again an another easy summer treat.
I prepared a simple cherry syrup to prepare this popsicle which calls for a cup of pitted cherries. Pitted cherries when cooked along with sugar, gives a semi thick cherry syrup, which is later mixed with water and lemon juice to make out this easy breezy cherry popsicles. Hence this popsicles dont have cherry chunks in them. If you get cherries abundantly dont forget to add some cherry chunks to make this simple popsicles more delicious and fruity.
For Cherry Syrup:
1cup Pitted cherries
1cup Sugar
1cup Water
Take the cherries, sugar, water in a pan, cook everything well until the cherries turns soft.
Mash the cherries and strain this syrup. Let the syrup cool completely.
Store in an air tightend bottle.
For Popsicles:
1/2cup Cherry syrup
1tsp Lime juice
Take half a cup of cherry syrup in a bowl, add the lime juice, and add a cup of water, mix everything well.
Pour this to popsicle moulds or kulfi moulds and arrange in freezer.
Leave it for overnite.
Enjoy the popsicles.

ReplyDeleteThe worst part of the whole process is pitting the cherries. But love the naturally flavoured popsicles. Beats the artificial flavoured ones anytime.
