Bite sized appetiziers are mostly finger foods, since i picked kid's delight - Bite sized appetizers theme for this week's blogging marathon, i decided to bake some mini sized herbed and garlic butter flavored monkey bread. Though monkey bread are baked usually in bundt cake pan, you can bake some cute mini monkey breads with your muffin pans as well. Trust me, these mini monkey bread rolls are definitely a crowd pleaser with fabulous aroma. As much as like usual garlic monkey bread, these tiny bread rolls will definitely please your tastebuds if you love garlic butter in your bakes.
Bake these mini version of monkey bread and enjoy them as an appetizers for a get together or else for a kid's party. Just pull and enjoy this monkey bread with your favourite sauce. Monkey bread consists of several pieces of soft bread either filled with a stuffing or coated with spice powders like cinnamon, garlic-butter mixture etc.Usually monkey bread is prepared as a sweet pastry though many savoury versions do exists.This bread is traditionally served hot so that the baked pieces can be easily torn away with the fingers and eaten by hand.Trust me this mini monkey bread will be big hit among the kids.
2cups All purpose flour
1/2cup Warm water
1/2tbsp Instant yeast
2tbsp Olive oil (for dough)
1/2tsp Sugar
1/2tbsp Mixed dry herbs
1tbsp Minced garlic cloves
4tbsp Melted butter
1tsp Salt
Grated Parmesan Cheese (for topping)
In a large bowl, take the flour,instant yeast, salt,oil and sugar, add the luke warm water and knead everything as a smooth dough.
Drop the dough onto a floured surface, knead until smooth and elastic for about 5minutes. Arrange dough in a greased bowl and let it sit in a warm place.
Take a muffin pan, grease it. Punch down the dough, divide them into 25-30 small tiny balls.
Take the melted butter, mixed dry herbs, minced garlic cloves in a bowl.
Put each ball to the butter-garlic mixture.
Drop them immediately to the already prepared muffin pan. Keep in warm place for half an hour.
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Keep the pan in the middle of the rack, sprinkle some cheese and bake for 20-25minutes until the crust turns golden brown
Once they get baked,keep aside for few minutes.
Remove the bread rolls from the pan, pull a bread and enjoy.
