I was looking for a prefect molasses to prepare at home, some molasses are quite interesting to make at home, especially fruit based molasses. Actually i seriously want to give a try to a small batch of pomegranate molasses aka pomegranate sauce with fresh pomegranate pearls. Finally i made it, yes i prepared a small bottle of catchy and a very delicious molasses with pomegranate pearls at home. Its really very easy to make though the cooking part goes for a bit long than the preparation part. However its really worth to give a try to this eye pleasing sauce.Pomegranate molasses is an essential ingredient in Middle Eastern cooking though this sauce is quite interesting to relish with French crepes or drizzled over a slice of simple vanilla cake.
You can use this molasses as a topping for many desserts too especially with icecreams, else as in salad dressings. Actually this molasses can stay more than two weeks if they are conserved properly. I crossed many versions of pomegranate molasses using storebought pomegranate juice, but i tried this molasses with freshly squeezed pomegranate juice with less sugar than the original recipe went for.Just with three ingredients, you can make this ultimate molasses very much prefectly at home. This pomegranate molasses is going to be a part of this week's blogging marathon as am running with Dips & Sauces for this week's theme.Check out the Blogging Marathon page for the other Blogging Marathoners doing BM#58.

2cups Freshly squeezed pomegranate juice
1tbsp Sugar
1tsp Lemon
Take the pomegranate juice, sugar, lemon juice a sauce pan.
Bring it to boil and put the flame in medium flame, stir continously until the mixture turns slighty syrupy consistency.
If the syrup coats the back of the spoon, just put off the stove.
Let it cool completely and store it properly.

It sounds very tempting and would like to try. Did you grind the seeds with water to get the juice?
ReplyDeleteJust quarter cup of water to grind with two cups of pomegranate pearls, if you add more water, the juice will take more time to turn as syrup.Make a thick juice with less water.Hope this helps Suma.
DeleteAwesome...How long can we store this?
ReplyDeleteMore than two weeks if conserved properly Annu..
