French Green Lentils Fritters/Le Puy Green Lentils Pakodas

French Green Lentils aka Le Puy Green Lentils are quite popular in France, as much as like our Indian lentils, this lentils are extremely nutritious. You can dish out many delicious dishes out of this lentils and i dont forget to get a packet whenever i go to our nearby super market. Usually prepared as soups or accompaniments or in salads, this puy lentils are extremely delicious and very versatile. I have been trying some Indian dishes out of this lentils and its works prefectly awesome. As like every lentils, this Le puy lentils calls for soaking time, but trust me you doesnt need to soak them for overnite. Just soaking for two hours is quite enough to dish out a healthy dish with this lentils.

French Lentils Pakoda, Pakoda with Green Lentils


Summer came almost to an end here and the weather was rainy and bit chilled suddenly, to keep ourself warm, i prepared a simple pakodas with this healthy lentils and they came out extremely crispy. With less efforts and usual ingredients, you can prepare this pakodas easily and served with a chutney or else with a cup of coffee or tea, you will definitely enjoy your snacks without any guilt. If you get a chance to get a packet of this lentils, dont forget to give a try to this pakoras. French Green Lentils Fritters, French Lentils Pakodas

1cup Green Lentils/Le Puy Green Lentils (soaked for two hours)
1 Onion (diced)
1tsp Cumin seeds
1/2tsp Fennel seeds
2tbsp Roasted rava
1/4tsp Baking powder
2 Green chilles (sliced)
Salt
Oil for deep frying

Take the green lentils, diced onion,salt, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, green chillies in a blender, blend as a smooth thick paste by adding small amount of water.

Transfer the mixture to a bowl, add the roasted rava, baking powder, mix everything well. Keep aside for few minutes.

Pakora with French Green Lentils, French Lentils Pakoda

Heat enough oil for deep frying, take a small ball of this mixture and drop it to the hot oil, continue and fry it in small batches until the pakodas turns brown and crispy.

Drain the excess oil with a paper towel.

Enjoy immediately.
