This week's blogging marathon is going to be Kid's friendly party menu dishes, yes the theme for this week is Kid's Delight-Anniversary Party. Obviously kids and even grown up kids will definitely enjoy my dishes i have dished out for this week's theme. Yes am sure in it, see how confident i am. However for the first day's post, am posting a Vegan and Vegetarian friendly lollipop/lollypop, usually this is prepared with meats or seafoods. Yes chicken wings are quite famous for dishing out meaty lollipops while prawns, fish or crab meats are used for seafood lollipops. My today's post is a Vegetarian lollypop which is completely prepared with Whole moongdal aka green moongdal. Extremely healthy and nutritious, this vegan lollypops makes an excellent starter to enjoy with your favourite sauce for a party.
This Vegan lollypop calls for cooked and mashed whole moongdal, trust me you doesnt need to run behind cooked vegetables to prepare this dal loaded lollypops, this lentils works awesome. Also i didnt used potatoes or onions in this dish, and skipped the potatoes which we usually add for binding by adding bread crumbs. Obviously you doesnt need any vegetables as this lollypops are already loaded with nutritious protein rich whole moongdal. An excellent party menu starter to give a try, definitely a crowd pleaser. If you are planning to make this lollipops in large quantity, you can even prepare this mixture a day before the party and deepfry or shallow fry it just before the party begins.
2cups Cooked & mashed Whole Moongdal
1/2cup Bread crumbs
1/2tsp Garam masala powder
2 Green chillies (chopped)
1/4tsp Chaat masala
1/2tsp Chilly powder
Chopped coriander leaves (optional)
Salt
Oil for frying
Take the mashed whole moongdal in a bowl, add the bread crumbs, chopped green chillies, garam masala powder, chaat masala, chopped coriander leaves, chilly powder.
Mix everything well with your fingers to combine. Now divide the mixture into equal portions and roll it as a oval shaped balls.
Meanwhile heat the oil for deep frying or shallow frying, once the oil is hot, drop the balls and fry in small batches.
Drain the excess of oil with a paper towel. Insert a wooden skewer or pop stick to the fried balls.
Serve warm with sauces.
