I have baked couple of cookies during last weekend, after posting few for Valentine's day special recipes, i have two more cookies to post. Since Valentine's day is around the corner, am posting this dangerously addictive heart shaped butter cookies baked with two colour doughs. This butter cookies takes hardly less than an hour to get ready. A prefect cookie to pack and gift as well. This cookie is prepared without any cookie cutter as i wasnt able to spot out my collection of cookie cutters. Hence i used my hand to shape these cuties. Hope they looks very much like hearts na.
Am running this week's blogging marathon with Easy sweet treats as theme. Obviously these butter cookies suits prefectly awesome for the theme. Needless to say that this cookies are completely egg free. Loaded with butter, this cookies are dangerously addictive to munch anytime of the day. This cookie is a big hit among the kids especially during a get together or else for a kid's party, depending upon the season you can bake these cookies with different coloured doughs.
1cup Butter (softened)
1/2cup Confectioner's sugar
1/2tsp Vanilla extract
2+1/2cups All purpose flour
1/4tsp Salt
Rose food colouring
Combine the butter, sugar, vanilla extract in a bowl and beat it until they turns soft and fluffy.
Sieve together the flour and salt.
Gradually add the flour mixture and turn everything as a soft dough.
Divide the dough into two equal balls, add the rose colour to a dough and the other one as simple dough.
Wrap the balls separately and keep in fridge for 30minutes. Line the baking sheet onto a baking tray.
Remove the dough from the refrigerator and roll the white dough as log, shape it as heart with your fingers.
Roll the rose colour dough as rectangle and roll it over the already rolled dough. Shape the rolled log as heart shaped by pinching an edge and making a curve on the other edge. Wrap the logs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour before baking.
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Remove dough from refrigerator. Use a sharp knife to slice logs as thin slices.
Place them on baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
Conserve them in an air tightened box.
