Watermelon & Greek Yogurt Salad
You might have noticed that i have been posting Summer friendly salads for this week's blogging marathon which was totally enjoyed and approved by my kids. Yes this week's blogging marathon's theme goes for Kid's friendly - Summer salads. When summer season starts, we look eagerly for Summer fruits especially for mangoes and watermelons. We just love these two fruits very much and we never fail to buy them once they shows their heads in our farmer's market. Watermelon is everyone's favourite summer fruit. Once i picked Summer salads as theme for this week's blogging marathon, i planned myself to dish out a simple salad with watermelon to stick with the theme for this week.

Red Cabbage Coleslaw/Purple Cabbage Coleslaw
We are officially entered to Summer season since two days back, obviously i have been preparing some summer salads for our evening dinner as they are easy to dish out. I love to prepare my own dose of coleslaw at home. Coleslaw is a salad prepared mainly with finely shredded raw cabbage, which is usually served with a vinaigrette or mayonnaise dressing. Coleslaw is definitely a prefect summer salad as they are really very easy to dish out. This salad can be prepared earlier as they are easy to conserve and serve chilled for a meal. It can be served very well as side dish with grilled meats or fried meats or else they can be served along with French fries.Colselaw can be used in filling for making some sandwiches as well.

Fry Sauce/French Fry Sauce
My last but not least sauce for this week's blogging marathon is this super easy Fry sauce. Am running this week's blogging marathon with Condiments on side as theme. After two delicious condiments, here comes one of the simplest and very quick condiment aka Fry sauce. Fry sauce can be prepared with simple ingredients, yes just with three ingredients. This fry sauce is ready to serve with your french fries, burgers or grilled meats. Though this sauce is a best accompaniment for french fries, you can serve this sauce very much with baked vegetables as well. This sauce is quite like the popular Cocktail sauce which makes a great addition to serve along with seafoods.

Purple Cabbage Ginger Chutney/Muttaikose Inji Thuvaiyal/Cabbage Thogayal
South Indians makes excellent side dish for their breakfast dishes especially for Idlis or dosas. Sometimes we need to think seriously out of the box to please everyone at home. My hubby love to have his idlis or dosas with different sort of chutneys than finishing his meal just with a side dish. Obviously if i plan idlis or dosas, i have to plan atleast more than a chutney to please his tastebuds. Hence i couldnt stop myself to dish out this purple cabbage thuvaiyal aka chutney to serve with dosas. Purple cabbage/Red cabbage you can name them as whatever, but this cabbage is bit expensive than the green cabbage but trust me they stay fresh for a long than the green one. If you are bored of dishing out usual dishes with cabbage, dont hesitate a second to check my today's post.
