Raggmunk/Swedish Potato Pancakes

Potato pancakes aka Raggmunk is one of the most favourite meal of Swedish people and this dish is a must for them, obviously Swedish peoples love this pancakes. Raggmunk is a common dish and Ragg means crispy and munk means donut pan in Swedish.Usually eaten with fried salted pork and Lingonberries, this dish makes a complete meal. Thinly grated potatoes when mixed with egg, flour and spiced with pepper powder and salt, once fried in pan with butter makes this incredible pancakes. Swedish cuisine have varieties of potato based pancakes. Even Raraka is a variety of potato pancake which is known as lacy potato cake as this dish is made just with grated potato and egg without any batter preparation.

Morot-och Russin Sallad/Swedish Carrot & Raisin Salad

Carrot is one of  the Sweden’s most popular vegetables, obviously carrot have their own place in most of their menus. Every little coffee shop serves a slice of carrot cake which is a must in their menu card.If you are eating out in Sweden, lunch is particularly good value as most restaurants will include a serve - yourself salad bar where you can eat as much salad as you want. Sometimes prepared with just a simple dressing, or perhaps mixed with kale, spinach, this carrot salad can be prepared easily with raisins. The crunchniess of the carrots make this salad more interesting and the addition of  sweet golden raisin gives a fabulous sweetness. Of course, the recipe is really pretty international, so Swedish peoples are not alone in liking it.

Broccolisoppa/ Swedish Broccoli Soup

Swedish broccoli soup aka Broccolisoppa is a simple tasty greenish soup which makes an excellent dinner. Or else a super filling lunch as well. Easy to make this Broccoli soup calls for easy cooking and you can also served this fantastic healthy soup as an attractive starter for a party. No sauteeing is needed, obviously this soup calls for easy cooking method. Prepared with vegetable stock or chicken stock, this easy breezy broccoli soup can be prepared easily in a pot without using pressure cooking. You can make this soup with more stalk than the green broccoli heads if you want your broccoli soup slight green in colour. This broccoli soup is served along with cheese tuiles however i skipped it as i ran out of the cheese.
