Rasmalai, i can die for a small portion of rasmalai, my all time favourite milk sweet i just love it to the core. Though rasmalai calls for spongy rasgullas, my today's post calls for bread slices. Yes my today's post is one of the easiest, simplest, hassle free and one of the delicious sweet you can prepare with less efforts at home. An excellent dessert or a Diwali friendly sweet to serve and enjoy with your loved ones. Even a beginner can dish out this Easy Rasmalai with less efforts. Actually this recipe gets ready very much easily than you can imagine.
Usually rasmalai is prepared by heating and reducing whole milk into half, since i dont want to spend hours for making the rasmalai i opted for a short cut method. One and half cup of whole milk and half a cup of Sweetened Condensed milk when cooked for a while, your rasmalai will get ready quickly, though the stirring part is very important as much as the traditional way of preparing rasmalai.Am running the first week of this year's blogging marathon with Milk based Sweets, hence am posting this easy breezy Bread rasmalai.
1+1/2cups Whole Milk
1/2cup Sweetened condensed milk
3nos White bread slices
2pinch Saffron strands
2nos Crushed cardamom
1/4cup Chopped nuts (almond,cashew)
Take the milk, sweetened condensed milk in a heavy bottomed pan, boil the milk in low flame for a while.
Add in the saffron strands and cook until the milk turns bit thick, keep stirring continously.
Turn off the flame once the milk turns thick, add half of the crushed nuts, give a stir.
Let it cool completely and arrange in fridge for atleast two hours.
Meanwhile cut the bread slices as round shaped medium discs with a cookie cutter.
Pour enough malai in a bowl, drop two or three bread slices, let it sit for a minute.
Serve immediately garnished with chopped nuts.
