Cheesy Hasselback Potatoes

Hasselback potatoes is a Swedish dish, which took its name from Hasselbacken, the Stockholm restaurant where this dish was first served.A hasselback potato is a baked potato dish, this dish goes for whole skinned potatoes cut into very thin slices by keeping the bottom of the potato intact. These baked hasselback potatoes look like difficult to make, trust me this dish is very simple to make.If you can manage to slice the potatoes prefectly just go on else take two wooden spoons and keep the potato in between, just slice your potato to get prefectly sliced hasselback potato.Brush the potatoes with a mixture of olive oil, salt and pepper, making sure it gets in between the slices.

Mozzarella Cheese Puffs

Puffs, this flaky and dangerously addictive finger food is our family favourite, i have already baked varieties of puffs from savoury to sweet, however i never tried cheese puffs.I thought that the addition of cheese may turn the flaky puffs somewhat heavy to have. But still i couldnt stop myself to give a try to a quick, simple and obviously a super cheesy puffs with some sliced mozzarella spiced with pepper powder and salt.Trust me, i was wrong, this puffs turned out simply awesome, very delicious and absolutely cheesy. They just vanished within few seconds and the oozed, melted cheese turned out this puffs more addictive. We just enjoyed thoroughly this cheese puffs for our dinner with some tomato salad.

Pearl Millet,Sprouted Green Gram Kuzhi Paniyaram

One of my recent trial with pearl millet aka Kambu is this fantastic nutritious kuzhi paniyaram, to make this dish more interesting i opted for sprouted green grams. Both make this dish more healthy and obviously delicious. Anybody can have this dish with their favourite side dish depending upon their tastebuds. I prepared this batter to try idlis out of it, suddenly i changed my mind and went for making these tiny dumplings using appam pan. These paniyaram aka dumplings came out extremely prefect and makes an excellent breakfast or snacks.

Barley, Black Urad Dal Idli

Idli is a traditional breakfast in south Indian households. As per wiki, idli is a savory cake of South Indian origin that is popular throughout India. These cakes are usually two to three inches in diameter and are made by steaming a batter consisting of fermented black lentils (de-husked) and rice. The fermentation process breaks down the starches so that they are more readily metabolized by the body. For a change i tried this famous south Indian breakfast with healthy ingredients in it.Yes i tried the whole black urad dal instead of the usual de-husked urad dal. This combination works absolutely fabulous and idlis came out simply awesome.

Fried Rotis Chaat

I seriously want to give a try to a different chaat food than the usual one, finally i went with rotis, yes my today's post goes for a simple roti cut as small circles with a round cookie cutter which is later fried in oil. While serving,i simply served this fried rotis simply topped with cubed potatoes, chopped onions, cubed tomatoes along with sweet and green chutney. If you have partially cooked chappathis or rotis, just give a try to this chaat, actually you wont miss the papdis here, fried rotis ressembles as much as like papdis and we loved it very much. You can also top this fried rotis with sweet corns, chickpeas etc depending upon your desire.

Aloo Tikki Chaat/Potato Cutlet Chaat

Chaat foods are my weakness  and i can survive for many days with chaat foods. All chaat foods are my favourite, i can have them even at midnite but unfortunately we dont get chaat foods here easily. Chaat foods are only available at home if i make them myself else its definitely a hard task to get them from stores, yes we dont have chaat food stalls here. If we crave for some chaat foods i'll make myself everything from scratch at home. Earlier my H wasnt a fan of this fingerlicking foods but now after having couple of homemade chaat foods, he became an ardent fan of this street foods. Needless to say Chaat foods are royal feast for us eventhough i try to make quite often at home.
