Am a great fan of both bottlegourds and peanuts, obviously if i get a chance to cook with these ingredients how can i hesitate a second to cook with. My today's dish is a delicious Andhra style bottlegourd curry which i crossed here long back and i bookmarked it immediately.. A lipsmacking curry to relish hot with some rice and papads, we loved this super nutty curry very much. Though the main ingredient for making this recipe is bottlegourd, both peanuts and sesame seeds paste is a must to cook this curry which turns this dish more delicious with a fantastic aroma.
Easy to prepare this curry gets ready very quickly than you can imagine. Once cooled, this curry will turns thick, needless to say you can serve this curry even with rotis too.
1 Bottlegourd (medium size & cubed)
1/4cup Peanuts
2tbsp Sesame seeds
3 Garlic cloves
4nos Dry red chillies
1 Onion (diced)
1/4tsp Turmeric powder
1tsp Red chilly powder
1/2tsp Cumin seeds
Few curry leaves
Oil
Salt
Cook the bottlegourd pieces with salt in water until they gets cooked, take care not to cook very soft.
Heat a teaspoon of oil, add the onions, garlic cloves, dry red chillies and fry for few minutes, add the peanuts and sesame seeds, fry.
Blend the roasted mixture with enough water as a paste.
Heat enough oil, let crack the cumin seeds, Add the blended paste and cook in low flame for few minutes, add the turmeric powder, red chilly powder, curry leaves, salt.
Cook everything in simmer for few minutes,
Serve warm.

That is a yummy curry and I often add peanuts and sesame seeds powder to bottle gourd for a different taste. I should try this gravy curry next time.
