I have been looking for an easy breezy desserts or sweets especially for the theme of this week's blogging marathon. Yes my theme for this week's blogging marathon is 'Vegan Sweets'. Though i had few vegan sweets in my mind, accidentally i crossed this bread kaja in Instagram. And this recipe is from Blend with Spices, Hari Chandana shared this recipe's click in Instagram and immediately i fell in love with this incredible bread kaja. Obviously i immediately went through the recipe, and that this sweet is completely vegan. How can i resist to this incredible sweet, my sweet tooth was actually craving for something crispy and sweet, without any hesitation i gathered all the ingredients immediately and prepared this kaja to served as dessert after our sunday meal.
Sounds almost like Shahi tukda, this bread kaja doesnt calls for Rabri/rabdi, a succulent milk based sweet. Trust me this bread kaja will definitely please anyone's tastebuds easily as this sweet is definitely very quick to dish out. Since bread slices are fried in oil, this bread kaja are super crispier than you can imagine. Trust me, if you are planning to prepare this kaja, dont forget to prepare in huge quantity else you will regret later. Make some, am sure this bread kaja will definitely become your most favourite sweets.
6-7 Bread slices
1/2cup Sugar
2nos Crushed cardamoms
Oil for frying
Few chopped nuts
Remove the brown edges of the bread and slice as two pieces.
Deep fry the sliced bread pieces one by one until the bread slices turns golden brown.
Remove the bread and drain the excess of oil with a paper towel.
Meanwhile make a one string consistency sugar syrup with sugar and enough water.
Add the crushed cardamoms to the sugar syrup and keep aside.
Drop the fried bread slices to the sugar syrup.
Remove the soaked bread slices and sprinkle the chopped nuts on the top.
Enjoy immediately.

What an yummy treat, Priya. Will try it soon.
Priya I'm already obese right now and you are tempting me with such a delicious dish that I normally avoid due to its taste... Don't take me wrong.. It's not that it's taste is not good, but it is too good to stop at one😁😁
Delicious ! A favourite with Sindhi's. It is normally served for special breakfast and we call it Chashni Bread or Mithi Bread .
We used to make this so often, never knew or called it by any name other than fried bread sweet..lol..I got nostalgic reading about this again..
