Baked Potato-Carrot Tater Tots

After a month of silence, am here with a new week of blogging marathon. And my theme for this week is Kid's delight - Bite sized foods. Obviously this week's posts are going to be kid's friendly bite sized foods. And my today's post is a simple, gluten free, guilt free, easy breezy baked Tater tots which is dished out simply with our favourite vegetable aka Potato. Since i dont want to prepare a usual tater tots, i couldnt stop myself adding some grated carrots to make them more healthy and catchy. Though tater tots are easily available in some part of the world, they are very easy to dish out ourselves at home. However tater tots calls for basic ingredients which is easily available in our pantry.Sending this to Srivalli's Kids Delight event, guest hosted by Refeeda, themed on "Bite Sized Food" for Kids.

Baked Herbed Potato Carrot Tater tots

Tater tots are deep fried, usually prepared with grated potatoes,these  dangerously addictive bite sized foods are served for starter or as a side. You can dish out this fantastic, dangerously addictive small bites with different vegetables. These tater tots are known very much for their cylindrical shape and crispy exterior. However tater tots can be baked as well if you want to make those deep fried beauties as a guilt free snacks. You can use any sort of vegetables to dish out these excellent starters or evening snacks to please anyone at home.

Potato Carrot  Tots

3 Potatoes (mashed)
1/2cup Carrot (grated)
2tbsp Corn flour
1/2cup Grated cheese
1tbsp Flax seeds
1/2tsp Garlic powder
Pepper powder
Salt
Oil (for baking)

Preheat the oven to 375F. Line a baking tray with a baking paper.

Take the mashed potatoes, grated carrot, flax seeds,cheese, corn flour,garlic powder,pepper powder and salt in a bowl.

Take enough potato mixture and shape as a oval shaped tots.

Arrange the tots to the already prepared baking tray, brush tots with oil.

Baked Potato-Carrot Tater Tots

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden.

Serve with your favourite sauce.

Tater Tots are so addictive, na? You can simply keep popping them into your mouth one after the other. The baked element can alleviate the guilt to some extent, while the carrots will help me think of how nutritious it is. :D

Recently we went for a vacation and my younger one got addicted to tater tots that were served with high tea buffet at our hotel. I'm delighted to see this healthier version with addition of carrots and baked instead of fried.
