Milagu Jeeraga Kambu Sevai/Cumin, Peppered Pearlmillet Vermicelli

If you ask me to make a quick tiffin,i'll definitely go for a simple milagu jeeraga sevai aka cumin and pepper flavoured rice noodles. Its my all time favourite, whenever i want a quick tiffin i'll make immediately this simple, delicious dish with store bought sevai. But this time for a change, i tried the same milagu, jeeraga sevai with finger millet vermicelli/noodles. If you are my follower i have already told that i came home with few packets of different millets sevais from India. I just started experimenting with those sevais, one of my recent trial with kambu sevai is this easy peasy cumin and pepper flavoured sevai. They came out simply awesome and my kids loved thoroughly when i served them topped with sugar.Sending to Kids's Delight - Healthy Snack Box hosted by Harini, event by Srivalli n to Pari's Only - Gluten Free Cooking.

Apart from the cooking time, this dish takes hardly less than 10minutes to get ready, no chopping is needed. Just a simple tempering and freshly grounded cumin and pepper powder is quite enough to make this healthy tiffin. To make this simple dish bit nutty, i have added few cashew nuts. If you dont want to add cashews, just leave it obviously the addition of these nuts do give bit nuttiness to this spiced sevai. My theme for this week's blogging marathon is Tiffin, needless to say that this healthy sevai is going to be today's post for this theme.Check out the Blogging Marathon page for the other Blogging Marathoners doing BM#42.

1packet Pearlmillet sevai
1tbsp Freshly grounded pepper powder
1tsp Cumin seed powder
1/2tsp Mustard seeds
1tsp Urad dal
1/2tsp Channadal
Few curry leaves
1/4tsp Asafoetida powder
Few cashew nuts

Soak the pearlmillet sevai in water for few minutes, drain it and arrange it over a greased idly plate.

Pressure cook for 5minutes,remove it and keep aside.

Heat enough oil, let splutters the mustard seeds, urad dal, add the channadal, curry leaves, cashew nuts, asafoetida powder until the cashew nuts turns slightly brown.

Add now the cooked pearlmillet sevai, followed by pepper powder, cumin seed powder, salt, toss everything gently for few minutes.
