Toasted Apple Chunks & Salted Caramel Dessert

A simple dessert doesnt need much efforts na, i have prepared few for this week's blogging marathon as i picked 'Glass Desserts' as theme.A delicious fruit loaded dessert in glass, an easy breezy dessert to please everyone at home. You can prepare this dessert quickly if you have some salted caramel fudges at home. Actually this fudge is a must to make this dessert, which need some earlier day preparation, apart from it a simple dessert prepared in stove top. Simply toasted apple chunks flavoured with vanilla extract and a tablespoon of sour cream or mascarpone cheese is quite enough to prepare this alluring dessert.

Toasted apple chunks, salted caramel dessert

My today's recipe is one of the delicious dessert i have prepared recently and we enjoyed thoroughly this apple chunks loaded salted caramel dessert in glass for our dessert after a heavy meal. I used green apples which gives some sour taste to make this sugar loaded dessert which makes it more interesting. However you can use any kind of apples with your favourite sauce. Though chocolate sauce or vanilla sauce works awesome in this dessert, my personnal choice is always this salted caramel sauce. Do give a try, am sure you will definitely love this incredible dessert for an after meal.

Toasted apple, salted caramel Dessert

2cups Apple chunks
1tbsp Butter
Sour cream/Mascarpone cheese (as per need)
1tsp Vanilla extract
Honey (as per need)

Salted Caramel Sauce:
50grms Butter
1/2cup Brown sugar
2tbsp Corn syrup
1tsp Salt

In a heavy bottomed saucepan, add butter, brown sugar and corn syrup and put it on high flame on stove top. Stir till the butter melts and everything comes together.

Bring down the flame to low and stop stirring, remove from the stove and let it cool.

Salted Caramel Fudge:
2cups Sweetened condensed milk
1cup Brown sugar
1/4cup Golden syrup
125grams Butter
1tsp Sea salt

Take the condensed milk, brown sugar, golden syrup butter in a pan, cook until the sugar gets dissolves.

Cook in high flame for a while and put it in simmer, once the mixture turns thick, add the salt.

Once this mixture gets thicken,remove the pan.

Spread the mixture over a baking sheet lined over a rectangular pan until the mixture get cooled.

Arrange them in fridge for atleast 2 hours or until firm.

Cut into squares.

For Assembling:
Heat the butter in a pan, add the apple chunks and saute for a while with honey and vanilla extract, once the apple chunks turns soft, put off the stove and let it cool.

Spoon the cooled apple chunks to a glass, top it with a generous spoon of sour cream or mascarpone cheese, top it with salted caramel sauce.

Now cut the salted caramel fudge as small bites and top the dessert generously.

Arrange in fridge and enjoy chilled.

Tempting dessert. Priya, does the caramel sauce also contain condensed milk in it? If so, how much did you use?
