Tart is a open top baked dish prepared with a pastry base. The pastry base usually used for making a tart is always shortcrust pastry and the filling may be sweet or savory. But somehow modern versions of tarts do exists with biscuits, fruit-based or sometimes with custard. Most known tarts include Treacle tart, meringue tart, tarte tatin and bakewall tart. However some easy versions of tarts do exists, yes simple jam tarts are quite easy to bake and to enjoy if you have short crust pastry sitting in your fridge. Tart is one of our favourite dessert after a meal, especially when tart is prepared with fruits.
I love apple tarts,usually i bake apple tart with sliced apples topped over apple sauce which is also known as French apple tart, but if you want to bake a super rich tart, dont forget to check this cream loaded tart. If you bake this apple and chocolate chips cream tart at home, trust me you will definitely go for a second serving. Yes this tart is definitely a terrific dessert to carry or to serve to enjoy with your loved ones. Grab a shortcrust pastry sheet from the store if you want to bake this tart with less efforts.
1no Shortcrust pastry sheet
3nos Apples (peeled, cored & sliced)
1tbsp Sugar
1/4cup Chocolate chips
For cream:
1cup Heavy cream
1/4cup Milk
2nos Large eggs
1/4cup Sugar
1tsp Vanilla extract
Line the short crust pastry sheet on a tart mould. Meanwhile add the sugar to the sliced apples, toss well and keep aside.
Now arrange the apple slices on the top of the pastry sheet.
Take all the ingredients given under the list 'for cream' and mix everything well until the sugar gets dissolves.
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Pour the prepared cream over the apple slices, sprinkle generously the chocolate chips on the top.
Bake for 20-25minutes. Let it cool completely.
Arrange in fridge for atleast 2-3 hours.
Once chilled, slice the tart and enjoy.
