Custard Powder Yogurt Cake

Yogurt cake is a popular French sponge cake i usually bake at home with usual ingredients. This cake is a fantastic spongy cake, which suits absolutely prefect for a teatime snacks. And this cake is very easy to prepare as its needs a simple yogurt pot. Yes a storebought yogurt pot is quite enough to measure this cake. Its almost like our Indian 7 cup cake, a traditional sweets we make during Diwali festival. And this cake is completely butter free, oil and yogurt replace very well butter in this cake. I have baked couple of yogurt cake with different variations and here comes an another trial. Yes my today's post is definitely a new try for me as i included vanilla flavored custard powder in this yogurt cake.

Yogurt cake with Custard powder

I have baked cookies and cooked eggless French toast out of the custard powder but never tried cake out of it. I have been planning to bake this cake for a while, but finally i baked this ultimate super spongy custard powder yogurt cake for our evening snacks. Served along with a cup of tea or coffee, a slice of this ultimate cake will definitely please anyone's tastebuds. If you dont have custard powder, just replace it with corn flour to bake a super light yogurt cake.

I agree to how easy it is to bake the French yogurt cake. I love that addition of custard powder, gives it a pretty yellow hue...

this is my kind of cake - I am not a chocolate fanatic and I prefer plain cakes and with the custard powder must be so soft and moist. I must try!
