Am running this week's blogging marathon with 'Gluten Free Dessert'.After a fantastic creamy Lychee pannacotta, i couldnt stop myself to post this delicious besan ka halwa for this week's theme. Gram flour is prepared with chickpeas which is completely gluten free. This flour is extremely rich in proteins when compared to other flours. If you are searching for a simple sweet to please your sweet tooth dont forget to check this irresistible halwa.

Besan ka halwa, Gramflour Halwa

1/2cup Gram flour/Besan
1/4cup Ghee
1/4cup Sugar
1cupMilk
1/2tsp Cardamom powder
Few cashew nuts
Few Chironji (optional)

Heat the ghee, fry the cashew nuts until they gets fried, remove the nuts and keep aside.

Now add the gram flour to the ghee, roast until a nice aroma comes from and the colour gets changed.

Add the sugar, and cook in simmer continously. Now the colour of the gram flour will be brown.

Besan ka halwa

Now add the milk, cardamom powder and cook until the halwa gets off from the vessel.

Add the fried cashewnuts and chironji seeds to the halwa.

Though I am not a fan of sweets, I am partial to some of them and ones made with besan are always a hit in my household. I like the way you've presented the halwa.
