Wheat Bread Dosa

Dunno what about you all, i just love making instant versions of breakfast dishes like idlies or dosas. My today's recipe goes for an instant version, one of my favourite since ever i had this dosa at one of my friend's place. Actually i made this dosas many time but never had a chance to click a picture to post them. Finally i clicked few pictures last week, when i prepared this bread dosa batter with whole wheat bread, rice flour and roasted rava. A prefect breakfast to enjoy thoroughly during a weekend brunch or else for breakfast to kick start a day and not to forget that this dosa suits prefect for dinner too.

Am running my fourth week of blogging marathon with Indian bread baskets as theme, after two interesting dishes i couldnt stop myself to post this easy breezy dosa with wheat bread slices. Even a bachelor can make this ultimate crispy dosas if they dont know how to make dosa batter at home. You just need a mixie to make the batter and the batter is ready to make dosas. Yes this dosa batter goes for an easy preparation with basic ingredients.

Wheat Bread Dosa

4nos Wheat bread slices
1/4cup Semolina/Roasted rava
1/4cup Rice flour
1/2tsp Crushed peppercorns
1/2tsp Cumin seeds
1no Onion (chopped)
1cup Buttermilk/yogurt

Heat few drops of oil, saute the onions until they turns transculent, keep aside.

Drop the bread slices in a water, strain them and squeeze the water completely.

Take the bread, semolina rice flour, buttermilk, salt in a mixie jar, grind for few seconds.

Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add water if need to turn it as a dosa batter.

Add the sauteed onions, crushed peppercorns, cumin seeds, mix well.

Heat a griddle,spread a ladle of dosa batter thinly and cook in medium flame until the dosa gets well cooked on both sides.

Serve immediately with side dish.

That sure is a quick and easy dosa with bread and no fermentation required which is a bonus.
