Soya Chunks Balls/Soya Kola Urundai

This week's post are going to be Snack foods, as i picked Kid's delight - Birthday Snacks as theme for this week's blogging marathon. After a fantastic,cheesy kulchas, i couldnt stop myself to share this very delicious, dangerously addictive kola urundais aka savory balls prepared with nutritious soya chunks. Obviously this meatless savoury balls is our recent time favourite and trust me this balls will definitely become your favourite as well.These balls goes for easy ingredients and very simple to do. This vegetarian soya nugget balls makes an excellent starter or appetizer when served along with sweet chilly sauce or simply with ketchup.This kola urundai aka crispy balls is a very interesting way to include soya nuggets in our diet.

You can serve very well this kola urundais for any occasions,these balls are definitely a crowd pleaser and quite an easy way to feed anyone with this nutritious soya meat.Once you finished frying these balls, just serve your kids and see how fast these crispy balls gets vanish. Am sure this kola urundai will become a family favourite definitely. An excellent kid's friendly snack food, obviously prepare this balls and serve everyone especially for a kid's party.

2cups Soya chunks (cooked and grounded as fine paste)
1tbsp Fennel seeds
1tsp Poppy seeds
2nos Garlic cloves
4tbsp Coconut
4nos Dry red chillies
7tbsp Roasted gram/pottukadalai
1no Onion (chopped finely)
Few curry leaves
Oil (for frying)
Salt

In the pan,heat few drops of oil and saute the chopped onions,curry leaves until the onions turns transculent.

Grind the poppy seeds,coconut,garlic cloves,fennel seeds,dry red chillies as fine powder.

Also grind the roasted gram as fine powder.

Now take the sauteed onions, cooked and grounded soya chunks, grinded spice powder, roasted gram powder and salt in a bowl.

Mix everything well to form a dough.

Soya Kola Urundai

Pinch out medium sized balls from it and keep aside.

Heat the oil for deepfrying. Drop the rolled balls to the oil..

Fry in medium flame until they turns golden brown,drain the excess of oil with a paper towel.

Serve with ketchup.
