Khara Paruppu Poli/Channadal Paruppu Poli

Puran Poli is well known as Obbattu or Holige, is quite a popular sweet flatbread which have their own place in every festivals. And this Poli is prepared with channadal, jaggery and coconut which is flavored with cardamom powder.However even toor dal is commonly used in the state of Karnataka,Gujarat and Tamil Nadu as well. But Moongdal is very much used in Andhra pradesh where this flatbread is called as bobbatlu or bakshalu. However savoury version of this fabulous sweetened flatbread do exists. And we call it fondly as Khara poli, which is definitely a tasty and dangerously delicious evening snack to enjoy with your favourite drink. Stuffed with spiced mashed channadal filling, this khara poli makes a filling snacks or starters depending upon how you serve this fantastic flatbread.

Cauliflower Whole Wheat Fritters/Gobi Atta Pakora

Winter evenings are so chilled here, obviously after a long day work, everyone at home love to have some crispy fritters. Fritters makes everyone happy, and needless to say kids love to munching hot pakoras for their snacks. Hence i prepared this cauliflower pakodas aka bajjis with a combination of wheat flour and gram flour. Adding wheat flour may sounds completely different from the usual way of dishing out these fritters. But trust me wheat flour works awesome for making puffy and dangerously delicious fritters as well.

Mint Sweet Corn Balls/Pudhina Sweet Corn Kola Urundai

Kola urundai, this deep fried balls are usually prepared with minced meat, but am trying to replicate those meat loaded balls with different vegetables. I have already tried couple of versions of this popular meat loaded kola urundais. Since these deep fried balls are my kid's favourite, i dont forget to make them once a while eventhough am keeping myself away from deepfrying. I have created few of my own kola urundais with varieties of vegetables and ingredients as these balls are just prefect to feed kids easily with vegetables. Though these balls are usually deep fried even you can prepare them as no deep fried balls just by cooking them through paniyaram pan.

Grated Vegetable Pakodas/Mixed Grated Vegetable Fritters

Pakodas aka deep fried fritters have their own place in our snack platter. Yes if its raining or if its time to watch a movie together, i dont forget to get ready with a box of pakodas. However a cup of hot masala chai with a plate of pakodas is definitely a real bliss. Though deep frying is quite rare in my kitchen nowadays, i dont hesitate to prepare fritters once a while as i have some deep fried food lovers at home. Coming to this fritters,this time i sticked with grated colourful vegetables which turned these fritters much catchy and colourful obviously. Grated vegetables gets well mixed with the flour mix and its quite an interesting way to feed vegetables to kids. Anyhow this pakodas makes an excellent munchies while watching a movie.

Instant Red Rice Flakes Vadas/Instant Poha Onion Vadas

If you want something crispy, an excellent munchies for your cup of tea or coffee for your evening snacks, you should check my today's instant vadas loaded with onions. Very simple to make, these vadas are completely instant and no grinding is needed. Apart from chopping onions and green chillies, these crispy poha aka rice flakes vadas are very quick to prepare. Usually vadas are prepared by soaking dals for more than two hours and grinding them as bit coarse paste or smooth paste depending the dals. These poha vadas are prepared by just soaking thin rice flakes for just few minutes. Once they are soaked , drain them and mash them nicely with your fingers to make as a thick paste, add the chopped onions, chopped green chillies and spices to the paste, shape them as vadas and fry them. Red Rice Dal Dumplings/Sivappu Arisi Paruppu Paniyaram

Since am busy with my work, its really a hard task for me to prepare idly batter for every week. Hence i stick with easy adai batter or else with instant dosa batter to whip up some dosa quickly for our dinner. Since the last weekend was a long weeked for me, i gathered all the ingredients to grind some dosa batter for a week. Obviously i couldnt stop myself to grind some red rice-mixed dals batter to make some dumplings.This dumpling batter goes for an easy preparation and no fermentation is needed. Just leave the batter in room temperature for an hour and make your dumplings with your paniyaram pan. You can have them either for snacks, breakfast or else for dinner if you dont feel like making your dinner.

Baked Potato-Carrot Tater Tots

After a month of silence, am here with a new week of blogging marathon. And my theme for this week is Kid's delight - Bite sized foods. Obviously this week's posts are going to be kid's friendly bite sized foods. And my today's post is a simple, gluten free, guilt free, easy breezy baked Tater tots which is dished out simply with our favourite vegetable aka Potato. Since i dont want to prepare a usual tater tots, i couldnt stop myself adding some grated carrots to make them more healthy and catchy. Though tater tots are easily available in some part of the world, they are very easy to dish out ourselves at home. Sanna Pakora/Sindhi Onion Pakoras

Indian cuisine have varieties of pakoras aka crispy deep fried fritters, i have prepared couple of pakoras though i have few to make at home. Finally here is one among those pakoras i have bookmarked few months back from Gayathri's Space is this ultimate crispy double fried onion pakoras. Loaded with onions and chopped coriander leaves, these fritters are seriously addictive to  munch with a cup of tea or coffee for your evening snacks. This double fried Sindhi style chickpea flour pakoras are very easy to make. With loads of chopped onions and finely chopped coriander, these pakoras will definitely satisfy your crave for deep fried beauties.

Mini Pan Fried Soya Masala Stuffed Buns

If you have yeasted bread dough sitting in your fridge, and you dont want to bake as bread in oven, dont forget to check my today's post. Stuffed with a delicious soya masala, this pan fried buns are prepared easily with less efforts. Obviously these cute bite sized pan fried buns are completely eggless and definitely vegan. Slow cooked in pan, these pan fried buns are dangerously addictive and a prefect crowd pleaser if you want to make a fantastic appetizer for a get together. Though i stuffed this buns with a simple spiced minced soya masala, you can stuff this buns with your favourite fillings in it.

Gluten Free Broccoli & Onion Pakoras

Though i keep myself away from deep frying, weather in Paris makes us to crave sometimes for deep fried fritters. Obviously once a while i dish out some crispy fried beauties either for our snacks or else for starter. Broccoli, this antioxidant rich vegetable is definitely a must in my cooking, i dont forget to add them often in my dishes, though kids are not big fan of this vegetables. Needless to say, i have to think twice to make dishes with broccoli florets. Anything fried is definitely kid's favourite, hence i prepared this fantastic pakoras out of them, as this pakoras are loaded with broccoli and onions.

Mini Herbed & Garlic Butter Monkey Bread

Bite sized appetiziers are mostly finger foods, since i picked kid's delight - Bite sized appetizers theme for this week's blogging marathon, i decided to bake some mini sized herbed and garlic butter flavored monkey bread. Though monkey bread are baked usually in bundt cake pan, you can bake some cute mini monkey breads with your muffin pans as well. Trust me, these mini monkey bread rolls are definitely a crowd pleaser with fabulous aroma. As much as like usual garlic monkey bread, these tiny bread rolls will definitely please your tastebuds if you love garlic butter in your bakes.

Gluten free Mini Tofu Fingers/Fried Tofu Fingers

Am trying to inculde tofu quite often in our meal, kids love it as much as like paneer. Actually tofu is replacing very much paneer in my cooking. One of my recent trial with tofu is this simple and very easy fried fingers. Yes you can make some fantastic starter with extra firm tofu. Simply flavoured with any sort of spices, tofu can be cooked as many delicious dishes. However we are great fan of this fried tofu fingers. Since tofu doesnt have any flavor, if you are making this ultimate Vegan and gluten free tofu fingers dont ever hesitate a second to flavor them with your favourite spices. Actually i went with simple garam masala flavoured tofu fingers as we love masala flavor in tofu.

Grilled Vegan Mustard Cauliflower Steak/Grilled Vegetarian Steak

This week's blog posts are going to be Vegetarian grilling, yes you read it rite. Am gonna post only vegetarian grilling. Though its not still summer here, grilling vegetables or meats have been a part of our menu since am having an electric griller which makes some fantastic grilled vegetables. Obviously weather is not an obstacle for us to prepare some succulent grilled vegetables or meats. A simple Cauliflower steak when spiced with dijon mustard and some dried parsley leaves makes this extremely delicious dish. You can enjoy this healthy vegan steak with your favourite sauce. With a tablespoon of olive oil, you can prepare this incredible steak with less efforts. Whoever love cauliflower very much, will definitely enjoy thoroughly this vegan steak.

Apple Fritters

Its getting too chilled here, obviously during weekends we look for something hot and spicy to munch with our cup of tea or coffee. I have couple of bookmarked recipes to try since a while and finally i got a chance to clear a bookmark recipe which i have been looking to dish out since a long. Yes finally Pioneer's Woman apple fritters, i fried these cuties last weekend while its was raining outside. Extremely addictive and dangerously delicious, these fritters are our family favourite now. Soya Chunks Balls/Soya Kola Urundai

This week's post are going to be Snack foods, as i picked Kid's delight - Birthday Snacks as theme for this week's blogging marathon. After a fantastic,cheesy kulchas, i couldnt stop myself to share this very delicious, dangerously addictive kola urundais aka savory balls prepared with nutritious soya chunks. Obviously this meatless savoury balls is our recent time favourite and trust me this balls will definitely become your favourite as well.These balls goes for easy ingredients and very simple to do. Cheese Kulcha

Kulchas is a younger sister of Naan,  usually made with baking soda/baking powder instead of Yeast, this flatbreads are my favourite. Since this Indian flat bread are versatile, you can make this delicious flatbread stuffed sometimes with interesting fillings or else served simply as plain kulchas .Kulchas is quite a typical Punjabi recipe and Amritsar, a city in Punjab which is famous for its kulchas and Naans.Usually eaten with chole aka channa masala, Kulchas makes a filling breakfast or dinner. If they are stuffed, they doesnt even need any side dish to have with.Though kneading the dough and making a filling asks for some preparation, this kulchas makes an excellent lunch for growing kids.

Vegan Whole Moongdal Lollypop/Green Moongdal Lollipop

This week's blogging marathon is going to be Kid's friendly party menu dishes, yes the theme for this week is Kid's Delight-Anniversary Party. Obviously kids and even grown up kids will definitely enjoy my dishes i have dished out for this week's theme. Yes am sure in it, see how confident i am. French Green Lentils Fritters/Le Puy Green Lentils Pakodas

French Green Lentils aka Le Puy Green Lentils are quite popular in France, as much as like our Indian lentils, this lentils are extremely nutritious. You can dish out many delicious dishes out of this lentils and i dont forget to get a packet whenever i go to our nearby super market. Usually prepared as soups or accompaniments or in salads, this puy lentils are extremely delicious and very versatile. I have been trying some Indian dishes out of this lentils and its works prefectly awesome. As like every lentils, this Le puy lentils calls for soaking time, but trust me you doesnt need to soak them for overnite. Just soaking for two hours is quite enough to dish out a healthy dish with this lentils.

Cheesy Pesto Potato Sandwich Toast/Mini Pesto Potato Cheese Sandwich

After a month break, finally am kick starting this week's blogging marathon with 'Small Bites' as theme. Small bites, this mini snacks or appetizers makes an excellent crowd pleaser if you have a get together or else if you are planning a get together. Most of these small bites are finger foods, obviously they are easy to enjoy. Small bites are seriously very prefect to tickle anyone's tastebuds. However small bites are definitely kid's friendly dishes as they calls for mini versions of any sort of foods. My today's post goes for a lipsmacking sandwich toast, which i simply prepared with homemade pesto, mashed potato and cheese.

Rajma Cutlet/Kidney Beans Patties/Rajma Tikki

If you are a vegetarian, and dunno how to get your daily dose of protein in your vegetarian diet, then dont forget to add beans in your diet. Make sure to have your dose of beans atleast everyday. Dry beans like chickpeas,kidney beans, black-eyed peas etc have their important place in my pantry. I never fail to get them from provisional stores whenever i cross them. Its quite a routine for me to dish many healthy dishes out of this nutritious protein rich beans aka legumes. Obviously needless to say that these beans are our family favourite and i dont forget to cook with them atleast everyday. When its comes to feed my kids, i dont even hesitate a second to cook these legumes from breakfast to dinner. We just love them in our daily meals.
