Buñuelos Mexicanos/Mexican Buñuelos

Buñuelos Mexicanos is a popular fritters prepared during Christmas and New year's day. Though Bunuelos do exists as round balls, this flat shaped fritters are a sort of street foods in Mexico served along with hot atole and tamales to keep warm during their festive shopping. These Buñuelos are  light, crispy and round disc once deepfried are sprinkled with cinnamon-sugar or else served with piloncillo syrup. These bunuelos is definitely a very easy breezy fritters to prepare with less efforts. Buñuelos, Mexican Buñuelos

Am running this week's blogging marathon with a fantastic theme, my theme for this week's blogging marathon is Explore Latin American cuisine. After a lipsmacking El Salvadorian Corn Beverage, my today's post is going to be this Mexican Fritters. This fritter's dough is quite an easiest one to prepare and you can even prepare the dough a day before, if you are planning this incredible fritters in huge quantity. You can even freeze this dough as well if you want to fry these crispy fritters later.

Buñuelos mexicanos, Mexican Bunuelos

1+1/2cups All purpose flour
2tbsp Sugar
1tsp Baking powder
1/4tsp Salt
1 Egg
1/4cup Milk
2tbsp Melted butter
1/2tbsp Cinnamon powder
1/4cup Sugar

Mix the cinnamon powder and sugar together in a bowl and keep aside.

Take the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt in a bowl, add the egg, milk and melted butter and knead everything as a soft dough.

Keep aside for half an hour. Now knead again the dough and divide the dough into small sized balls.

Dust the balls with enough flour and roll everything as a medium sized disc.

Keep aside and let them dry for a while.

Buñuelos mexicanos

Meanwhile heat enough oil for deep frying. Drop the already prepared discs one by one and fry them on both sides until they turns brown and crispy.

Remove the Buñuelos, sprinkle immediately the cinnamon sugar generously on both sides.

Enjoy.

The fritters look fantastic ! I guess all Cuisine have some or the other kind of fritters. These look nice and crunchy , would love to munch on them .

Love for deep fried food seems to be universal :-)! Can imagine that flavor the cinnamon sugar imparts...yum!!
